As the top law enforcement official in Genesee County, David Leyton has been on the front lines fighting crime and seeking justice for the nearly half-a-million residents of Flint and Genesee County.

He has been in the courtroom and overseen the prosecution of murderers and rapists, drug dealers and gang members, those
who would prey on the elderly and the young and those who would steal millions through white collar crimes.
It is from that raw vantage point that Prosecutor Leyton has seen firsthand the devastating effects of crime on individual citizens and entire neighborhoods and communities. It is from that experience that he wants to put public safety first as Michigan’s next Attorney General.

As head of the largest law firm in Genesee County, the job of Prosecutor requires a solid competency to handle department personnel and budget issues during tough economic times and the poised judgment to make critical calls in very serious situations. As a result, David Leyton is battle tested and has been on the front lines in providing service and seeking justice for the citizenry.

As Prosecutor, David deeply values the opportunity to serve as a “minister of justice.” That is why he wants to take his abilities and experiences to Lansing to serve all the citizens of Michigan as Attorney General.

Prosecutor Leyton understands that public safety is the foundation for strong and vibrant communities and a high-quality of life for all residents.

As Michigan’s next Attorney General, he will work hard each and every day to make public safety a top priority for our great State.
