Along with senior citizens, children are also some of our society’s most vulnerable individuals and require extra protection from those who would prey on their innocence.

Sadly, Genesee County has had more than its fair share of cases where children have been physically and sexually abused by predators and Prosecutor David Leyton has stood up for them in the criminal justice system.

From teachers and youth group leaders who have had inappropriate relations with children to strangers and family “friends” who have assaulted children violently or sexually, Prosecutor has vigorously prosecuted these individuals under the law. As Attorney General, he will continue to use the weight of the government under the law to hold them accountable for their despicable actions.

Prosecutor Leyton’s office also represents the state Department of Human Service in thousands of abuse and neglect cases each year. It is a large caseload and one that Prosecutor Leyton takes very seriously.

It is this experience as Prosecutor that provides David Leyton with a unique perspective that he will take with him to the Attorney General’s office in Lansing.
